####Hi Jeronimo - tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you and what do you do for fun?
Hi! I’m a multimedia designer focused on web development - primarily on the frontend, but I plan to tackle the backend in the future too.
For fun? I’m also a bmx flatlander (https://vimeo.com/9499234), but I’m currently injured - that’s actually why I got into the world of programming. I also hang out with my mates once in awhile when I have the time, but most of the time I’m studying. :)
####What do you do for a living and how long have you been in this industry?
I’m a frontend developer at a company who develops accounting software, but I’m also working a new product that is a CRM built from scratch using only AngularJs.
I’ve been in the industry for about four years, but only two as a full developer. In the beginning, I started by modifying the CSS of WordPress sites. Since then I’ve moved onto frontend development with AngularJs.
I also teach at the college level and focus on teaching students how to use Angular properly on large scale apps, component-driven architecture, and a little bit of Git.
####What brought you to egghead in the first place?
One day I was searching how to use Ruby on Rails with AngularJs. My search brought me to the site and it looked pretty interesting to me.
I got really excited when I saw the content about Angular and since that day I’ve stuck with egghead. :) I especially like how straightforward the topics are, and how you can just watch what you need.
I also like how current the topics are that egghead offers. John Lindquist is an excellent teacher - he goes straight for the things I’m looking for.
####What are some big successes you’ve had recently?
Well, lots of stuff - Babel, Webpack, Angular and ES2015.
I’m very proud of using these languages in production, mostly with the component-driven architecture. My increased skills really helped me a lot on a recent project - I was able to use Webpack properly with Angular and writing open source libraries is something I really like to do.
####What are you most excited about for your career in 2016?
I’d like to get more into ES2016, understand more raw JavaScript, create my own libraries, learn more about design patterns, mobile stuff, Angular 2, ReactJs, immutable programming, parasitic inheritance, functional inheritance, virtual DOM, virtual JSON and falcor.js.
I’m also excited to program without using the ‘this’ and ‘new’ keywords.
I have a goal of working in other countries. And I’d really like to teach at egghead.io someday. :)
Jeronimo is a web developer who loves the way the web works. JavaScript, in particular, is his passion due to everything one can create with it. Everything runs under JavaScript - it's everywhere! That’s why he's dedicating his life to it. As important as JavaScript is to Jeronimo, nothing compares to his little brother Matthias, the reason Jeronimo is who he is. <3
